2011: Year In Review

It is so hard to believe that this year is just about over with. It seemed to have flown by! (But doesn't everyone always say that..."it fleeeeew by!!") No, but really...it did.

January:

- made a goal to do 12 races in 12 months
- did the Running from an Angel 5K
- helped plan my sister's 30th birthday party


February:

- did the Fat Boy 5K
- started working alone in my child care business

March:

- got my first (paid) baking order
- fell deathly ill for the first time in a LONG time
- did the Six Tunnels to Hoover Dam 5K
- went out for St. Patrick's Day to an honest to goodness Irish Pub

April:

- did the Las Vegas 5K
- decided to go to London

May:

- came up with a savings plan for London
- got rear ended
- got whiplash
- did Runnin' for the House 5K
- celebrated my niece's 1st birthday

June:

- starting a baking business which thrived
- bought my plane ticket to London
- did the Runnin' With the Devil 5K
- continued to seek chiropractic treatment for my neck

July:

- continued to get baking orders
- opened my Etsy.com shop for baked goods
- came up with a kick ass name for my baking business
- still saved for the London trip
- decided to do the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon again
- trained for the half marathon
- applied for my passport
- met a boy
- dated that boy
- still continued to seek chiropractic treatment for my neck

August:

- baked up a storm for various clients
- saved for the London trip
- registered for the Half Marathon
- saw Augustana at the Cosmopolitan...for free
- went to Coyote Country fest and met Hunter Hayes
- trained for the half marathon
- got my passport in the mail
- toured the Zappos offices
- started school
- did the First Annual Megan Roy Self Timed 5K
- stillllll continued to seek chiropractic treatment for my neck

September:

- baked, baked, baked and baked some more
- saved for London
- saw "Viva Elvis" from the absolute front row
- cried during "Viva Elvis"...also from the front row
- went to CA for Labor Day weekend
- did the 9.11K race
- "forgot" to train for the half marathon
- you guessed it, still continued to seek chiropractic treatment for my neck
- went camping for 3 days with the fam bam at Mt. Charleston

October:

- let my goal of 12 races in 12 months sort of go down the drain : /
- baked all month for the business
- saved for London
- made final preparations for the trip
- saw the Justin Timberlake and Friends Old School Jam concert
- turned 25
- went crazy over the Cardinals won the WORLD SERIES!!!
- still "forgot" to train for the half marathon
- ended chiropractic treatment for my whiplash
- volunteered with the Ragnar Relay for my brother-in-law's team

November:

- went to London on November 1
- stood inside of Westminster Abbey on November 4
- went to Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and Bath, England on November 7
- went to Paris on November 9
- stood atop the Eiffel Tower on November 9
- did several baking orders
- spent my first ever Thanksgiving without my family
- broke up with that boy
- was pretty consistent with "forgetting" to train for the half marathon

December:

- did the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon on December 4
- did the half marathon without any real training
- had a lot of baking orders
- hosted a Cookie Exchange for some amazing friends
- hosted a Christmas party for my childcare kids

Rocked it.....again.





Did the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon again on December 4, 2011. My #1 goal was to finish faster than last year and my #2 goal was to finish under 3 hours. While I didn't meet the #2 goal...I DID meet the #1 goal. Brandi ran it too. It was a cool night.
