16 weeks down, 7 to go...

October 17 - 23, 2010

Sun: I don't remember if I ran or not...

Mon: Rest

Tues: 4 miles

Wed: Rest

Thur: hobbled through about 1 mile

Friday: Rest

Saturday: Rest

My leg pain got A LOT worse during this particular much so that by Friday, I had to decide to take a week off from running to let me leg completely heal.

As of today, 10/28/10 it feels pretty good. I haven't ran all week and am hoping to get back into my training program on Saturday or Sunday.

Other BIG NEWS! I found the outfit I will wear for the half marathon.


It was very exciting to buy it - it made the race all that more real.

I was really worried about what I was going to wear. A pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt isn't going to take me through 13.1 miles. I think I made a good purchase and I'm hoping I get through the race without any chafing and still have all of my toenails.

15 weeks down, 8 to go...

October 10 - 16, 2010

Sunday: 5 miles - in UT.

Monday: Rest

Tuesday: 4 miles

Wednesday: Pushed to Thursday

Thursday: 5 miles

Friday: Rest

Saturday: Skipped a 7 mile run...

I started to have a pain in my right lower leg when I was in UT last weekend. It progressively got worse and was super uncomfortable by Thursday. I still completed my 5 mile run but regretted it afterward. It's a pain on the inner part of my lower leg, that causes me to almost burst into tears everytime my foot hits the ground. I feel it when I'm walking too and it is even sore to the touch. I thought that it was shin splints - but then I realized...if it were shin splints wouldn't it be in BOTH legs? I have chalked it up to doing a lot of hills in UT over the course of two days (which I am NOT used to.) I have rested for a few days and done some at-home remedies to try and alleviate the pain. By this Tuesday I hope my leg is well enough to get back on track. I have a 12 mile run on the 23!

Tuesday: 3 miles - super cold in the morning!

Wednesday: 1 miles - just wasn't feeling it...

Thursday: Rest

Friday: 2 miles

Saturday: 7 miles in Panguitch Lake, UT. HILLS! Ahh!! H-A-R-D!

September 26 - October 2, 2010

Wednesday: 4 miles

Thursday: 3 miles

Friday: Rest

Saturday: 4 miles

Sunday: 4 miles, and it was the first time I have been able to run in the "rain". It may have only been sprinkling but I did splash through puddles...and it was amazing!
