Ready to fall into Fall...

I am so over Summer. Like seriously.

It wasn't that the Summer wasn't good or fun...nothing negative like that - I'm just really ready for Fall. Even though it's only early September (technically today is August 30,) I am ready for sweaters, and color changing leaves, and baking Fall goodies, and hot chocolate, and brown/orange/red, and jeans, and Autumn scents, and all that good stuff! Oh! And three great holidays; my birthday (go with it...), Halloween and Thanksgiving. I have big plans for all 3! Well, not my birthday yet...but the other two are very exciting!

I'm even more ready for summer to be over because tomorrow I am going back to school. (If going "back to school" means taking one semester off...) I'm kind of excited to go back! Mostly because of new school supplies and books. I'm a sucker for new school supplies.

These next few months are going to be busy - school, half marathon training, WORK. I'm ready, willing and definitely able to juggle it all though. I recently decided that it was time for me to...for lack of a better term...focus on me. I'm going to do what I want to do because I think it's what is best for me. No outside opinions, no distractions.

So,'s my message to you. Get here already, would ya?!

Again, that's......72 MILES!!!

It's hard for me to believe and I am really impressed with myself. (Is that conceited of me?!)

I'll just say it one more time....

Sunday: 3.15 miles

Monday: REST

Tuesday: 2.66 miles

Wednesday: 3.67 miles

Thursday: Cross train

Friday: REST

Saturday: 6.31 MILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a really good week. I tried warming up for a mile with a combination of walking a half mile and then jogging a half mile, followed by stretching and THEN doing my regular run - and I avoided all aches and soreness. From now on, I'll be doing that. Saved me from a few Aleve. : )

Music that moves you...

I L-O-V-E music. Like love. Even more so when I am running. I am more focused when I listen to music when I run outside...although it could be considered a safety hazard. I'lI take my chances - some songs are just too good to go to waste! In addition to almost always listening to music when I run outside, when I am at the gym I have to have my ear buds plugged into the treadmill and have my music blaring.

I'm an obsessive play list maker and I recently added a few new tunes to my "A Half Marathon is 13.1 Miles. Remember That." play list.

"Dog Days Are Over" - Florence + The Machine -- AWESOME song!! So motivating!!

"Ridin' Solo" - Jason Derulo

"Everyday People" - Sly and the Family Stone

"King of Anything" - Sara Bareilles

"Airplanes" - B.o.B. feat. Hayley Williams

"Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" - Sly and the Family Stone

"Perfect Day" - Lady Antebellum -- I LOVE this song!!

I find that I'm attracted to all sorts of different genres of music. I just like an upbeat song with good lyrics, whether it be old or new, as long as I can run to it - it's all good.

5 weeks down, 18 to go...

July 25 - July 31, 2010

Sunday: Skipped, unfortunately. But I did walk around all day at an amusement park. Does that count toward anything?!

Monday: REST

Tuesday: Skipped. And I hate to admit it.

Wednesday: 2.02 miles

Thursday: 2.61 miles

Friday: REST

Saturday: 4.72 miles - surpassed my previous farthest distance of 4.01 miles. 4.72 miles is officially the farthest I've ran! : )

I felt pretty good this week! Except for of course on Tuesday when I skipped my workout just for the sake of skipping it. I won't let that happen again.
